It is operated by BP on behalf of its partners: MI Berau B.V, CNOOC Muturi Ltd, Nippon Oil Exploration (Berau) Ltd, KG Berau Petroleum Ltd, KG Wiriagar Overseas Ltd, Indonesia Natural Gas Resources Muturi Inc., and Talisman Wiriagar Overseas Ltd.
Once the expansion is complete, it will have total capacity of 11.4 million tpy – an increase of 3.8 million tpy. The Tangguh facility is located in the Papua Barat Province in Indonesia. This latest order has been placed with PT IMECO Inter Sarana – GE Oil & Gas’ local business partner in Indonesia. GE Oil & Gas also provided the original equipment for Trains 1 and 2.
GE Oil & Gas has been awarded a contract by BP to supply gas turbine-driven compressors for a third liquefaction train for the Tangguh expansion.
